Origin & Genetic Lineage
Avery’s Albino is a leucistic strain believed to descend from the fast-growing Cambodian lineage of Psilocybe cubensis. While the exact breeder is not confirmed, the name “Avery” may refer to either a mycologist or the family of the original developer. This strain was selectively isolated for its ghost-white fruiting bodies and reliable cultivation traits, making it a common offering in the amateur cultivation and microscopy scene.

History & Community Spread
Avery’s Albino gained popularity for its distinctive appearance and beginner-friendly growth patterns. Originally created to bring the fast colonization traits of Cambodian cubensis together with a pale, photogenic look, Avery quickly became a staple in online forums and among home cultivators. Its steady flush performance and gentle effects made it especially appealing to newer users and microdosers.

Appearance & Morphology
This variety produces pale ivory caps that may display light blue tones in cooler or high-humidity environments. Caps are smooth, typically rounded when young, and may expand slightly at maturity. The stems are thick, dense, and white, often showing notable blue bruising when handled. Although visually similar to albinos, Avery’s Albino is leucistic and still produces dark purple-brown spores.

Potency & Effects
Rated in the Mild range on the Tanasi Potency Scale, Avery’s Albino delivers a clear, manageable psychedelic experience. It is often chosen for its calming emotional effects, mild visuals, and grounded introspection. Ideal for newcomers to psilocybin or those seeking a gentle microdose-compatible variety, Avery’s Albino offers mood elevation and subtle sensory enhancement without overwhelming intensity.

Cultivation Notes
This strain inherits its fast colonization from its Cambodian lineage and performs well across most standard substrates including brown rice flour, grain spawn, and CVG. It adapts well to a variety of fruiting conditions and produces medium-sized fruits with consistency across multiple flushes. Cooler environments tend to enhance its pale appearance, especially when grown with indirect light.
