Enigma is a rare mutation of Psilocybe cubensis derived from the Tidal Wave lineage, which itself comes from a cross of B+ and Penis Envy genetics. Rather than being a traditional strain, Enigma is a stabilized mutation often referred to as a “blob” or “brain-type” expression. It was isolated and preserved by advanced cultivators who recognized its unique morphology and extreme potency. Unlike standard cubensis, Enigma does not reproduce through normal spore formation and is instead maintained through tissue cloning, making it a true clone-only genetic.
Enigma gained widespread recognition after taking top honors at the Psilocybin Cup 2021 for highest tested tryptamine levels. This moment cemented its reputation as one of the most potent cubensis variants ever documented. Enigma does not form traditional mushrooms with caps and stems. Instead, it produces dense, folded masses of fungal tissue that resemble a brain or coral-like structure. Coloration ranges from pale white to cream, with strong blue bruising appearing throughout the structure. The overall look is unlike any standard cubensis variety, making it one of the most visually distinct mutations in cultivation.
Enigma is widely regarded as EXTREME in potency and is often cited as one of the strongest cubensis genetics available.
